SIGPfB Orienteering: Protocols, AI Agents, and Business Optimization

The group discussed a science fiction analogy about machine language programmers discovering spaceship optimizations that higher-level AI abstractions had missed over centuries of optimization, suggesting that excessive abstraction can obscure valuable opportunities. The meeting touched on practical concerns including reproducibility and the appropriate role of LLMs in business contexts, with Rafa beginning to explore where LLMs actually provide business value.
